Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Compliance Monitor to perform field inspections on active construction projects, documenting conditions and ensuring adherence to permits and plans. The role involves extensive travel, independent field work, and timely communication with project leadership.

You will verify SWPPPs, mitigation plans, and other environmental requirements, support corrective actions, and contribute to site safety and regulatory compliance across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on construction sites or performing environmental inspections.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental monitoring, construction inspection, stormwater compliance, or related field work.
• Prior experience on construction sites or performing environmental inspections is required.
• Experience working through environmental permitting in multiple markets is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Field Monitoring & Inspection: conduct environmental compliance inspections on active construction sites and document issues.
• Verify compliance with permits, plans, and environmental requirements using project documents.
• Coordinate corrective actions and communicate findings to project leadership.
• Document site conditions with field notes, photos, and inspection reports.
• Support preparation of routine inspection reports and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors and project teams to address field issues and permit requirements.
• Follow HSSE requirements and participate in safety training.
