Job summary

Stantec is seeking a qualified, self-motivated Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will provide leadership in biological field surveys, report preparation, environmental regulatory and project permitting efforts and within 2 years provide project management, lead, mentor staff, and support business development opportunities.

You will take the lead in preparing environmental documents pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 404

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural resources, planning, environmental science or related field required.
• 5–10 years of experience in environmental planning, assessment, and permitting.
• Strong QA/QC and ability to manage multiple projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead NEPA planning processes and oversee project scope, budget, schedule and client contact.
• Manage field teams during wetland delineations and habitat surveys.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and local governments.
• Oversee ecological studies, assessments and environmental surveys.
• Prepare NEPA documents including EISs, EAs, and CEs.
• Mentor staff and contribute to business development efforts.
