Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Compliance Monitor to perform field-based inspections on active construction projects, focusing on stormwater, erosion controls, wetlands, and regulatory compliance. The role involves extensive travel to sites, documenting findings, and coordinating corrective actions with project teams.

You will verify permit adherence, assist with regulatory documentation, and participate in safety training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level- or technical-degree related to environmental field and practical field experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in environmental monitoring, inspection, stormwater compliance, or related fieldwork.
• Experience on construction sites or performing environmental inspections is required.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to utility construction compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on active construction sites to document stormwater, erosion controls, wetlands, and other resources.
• Verify compliance with permits, plans, SPCC, air quality, noise, and other environmental requirements.
• Document conditions with notes and photos using project formats and digital tools.
• Identify non-compliance and communicate findings to the team for timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors and project teams to clarify permit requirements and implement mitigations.
