Job summary

BetterUp is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to serve as the single-threaded owner for our most complex, platform-defining engagements, including Fortune 100 deployments and government programs. You will influence the ELT on platform strategy, roadmaps, and the SE function’s long-term design.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Solutions Engineering or related fields with leadership experience.
• External reputation in enterprise SE or HR Tech — recognized by CIO/CISO/CFO before a deal.
• Rolodex of C-suite and VP Engineering relationships across enterprise HR Tech.
• Proven ability to advise executive leadership on platform strategy, GTM motion, and SE function design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as single-threaded owner for Fortune 100 deployments, government, multi-region rollouts and complex deals.
• Advise ELT on platform strategy, integration roadmap, and long-term SE function design.
• Bring external CIO/CISO/CFO-level relationships to accelerate enterprise pipeline.
• Define integration and security narrative at industry level for technical buyers.
• Advise on enterprise buyer trends and IT buying behavior to evolve platform and GTM motion.
• Lead company-wide initiatives like scalable SE coverage models and AI-driven tooling.
• Establish BetterUp as a thought leader in enterprise Solutions Engineering through external speaking and writing.
• Mentor SE and GTM leaders to raise the bar in the team.
