Job summary

BetterUp is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to own Fortune 100 deployments, advise the ELT on platform strategy, and bring a proprietary external network to accelerate enterprise deals. You will shape security narratives, influence long-term SE design, and mentor a growing SE organization across multiple regions.

The role emphasizes external credibility, deep HRIS/LMS/SSO expertise, and a track record of closing complex SaaS deals with executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Technical Consulting.
• Experience building or leading SE functions at high-growth enterprise SaaS companies.
• External reputation in enterprise SE or HR Tech with CIO/CISO/CFO-level credibility.
• Rolodex of C-suite and VP Engineering relationships across enterprise HR Tech.
• Proven ability to advise executive leadership on platform strategy, GTM motion, and SE function design.
• Deep expertise across HRIS, LMS, SSO, API integration ecosystems and enterprise compliance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as single-threaded owner for Fortune 100 deployments and complex platform engagements.
• Advise ELT on platform strategy, integration roadmap, and long-term SE design.
• Bring external CIO/CISO/CFO-level relationships to accelerate enterprise deals.
• Define integration and security narratives at industry level for technical buyers.
• Mentor SE leaders and raise the bar for the GTM organization.
• Lead thought leadership through external speaking and published writing.
