Job summary

Anthropic in the United States seeks a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic customers, shaping the technical direction of AI adoption and delivering production systems with Claude. You decide what should be built and ensure it is built well across an account roadmap.

You will collaborate with Research, Product and Engineering to design secure, scalable AI solutions, guide architecture across workstreams, and lead advisory engagements while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills with Python (and other languages).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents and production systems.
• Experience leading advisory and architecture-review engagements end to end.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and engage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own technical strategy for a key account or vertical with product teams.
• Guide architecture and design decisions across multiple workstreams.
• Lead discovery and advisory engagements and shape project scope.
• Lead engagements with partners, setting architecture and quality bar.
• Review designs and unblock other FDEs on critical calls.
• Represent Anthropic to senior stakeholders to align on strategy.
• End-to-end ownership: scope, sequence, unblock, and deliver production systems.
• Work with customer systems to build production applications and agent components with Claude.
• Identify repeatable deployment patterns and feed insights to product/engineering.
• Build long-term relationships with customers and identify new AI deployment opportunities.
• Travel 25% to customer sites for in-person collaboration.
• Be a champion for Anthropic's mission in the field.
