Job summary

Axon seeks an Engineering Program Manager to lead hardware/technical solutions programs with external partners, aligning product requirements with internal teams and vendors. You will own schedules, manage budgets, and drive readiness for manufacturing across EVT to PVT stages.

The role requires strong cross-functional communication, experience with ODM/CM relationships, and a focus on regulatory certifications. Hybrid work from Sterling, VA with onsite Tue–Fri and remote Mon availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; MBA or MS in Engineering Management a plus.
  • Proven experience managing hardware or technical solutions programs delivered through external development partners.
  • Strong technical fluency across mechanical, electrical, and firmware disciplines.
  • Experience managing ODM/CM or outside development partner relationships, including scoping, technical reviews, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Familiarity with hardware build phases (EVT/DVT/PVT) and design freeze processes.
  • Proficiency with program management tools for scheduling, risk tracking, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (FCC, CE, UL, MIL-STD) and driving vendor-delivered products through certification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements into technical scopes and align internal and external teams around a shared plan.
  • Own the master schedule for solutions programs with outside development partners across EVT, DVT, PVT.
  • Interface with external partners, manage scope, technical reviews, and deliverable acceptance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks from partner capability gaps and long-lead components.
  • Own program budget management including NRE, tooling, and build costs.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international stakeholders to ensure manufacturing readiness and ramp.
  • Translate complex technical status and vendor tradeoffs into clear communications for leadership.
  • Work autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment and support personal and professional development.
