Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking an Engineering Manager / Technical Leader to drive career growth of reports while contributing as a technical fellow either as an individual contributor or lead.

The role focuses on cloud-native architectures, Java/Spring Boot stacks, and strategic project guidance in a remote-first environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review architectures, and help plan milestones while aligning technical work with client needs and government-facing

Qualifications

• 10+ years in agile, multidisciplinary teams, ideally cloud platform experience.
• Proven ability to design/implement production-grade cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs with Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience with PostgreSQL via JDBC/ORM (Hibernate).
• DevOps experience, preferably Jenkins CI/CD.
• AWS cloud native services and data engineering experience.
• Strategic thinking on trade-offs and short-/long-term planning.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship required.
• May undergo background check or security clearance depending on contract.

Responsibilities

• Write code and perform code reviews with the engineering team.
• Draft and review technical specifications and designs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional product teams to mitigate technical risks.
• Guide the team on planning, estimation, prioritization, and balancing debt with milestones.
• Review architecture and designs from other projects.
• Partner with leadership on growth strategies for projects.
• Attend conferences and network with potential clients.
