Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to grow and guide a cloud-native engineering team. You will contribute technically as well as lead, mentor, and align with product teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions on cloud platforms.

The role emphasizes leadership, architecture review, and strategic planning, with remote-first flexibility and potential for onsite collaboration as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment with cloud platforms preferred.
• Experience designing production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL, using JDBC and ORM like Hibernate.
• DevOps experience, preferably with Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience using AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Ability to think strategically around trade-offs and work authorization to work in the United States.
• Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• May be subject to government background check or security clearance depending on contract.

Responsibilities

• Writing code and performing code reviews.
• Writing and reviewing technical specifications.
• Collaborating with cross-functional product teams to identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Guiding the engineering team on planning, estimation, prioritization, trade-offs, and balancing technical debt with milestones.
• Reviewing architecture and designs from other project teams.
• Strategizing with leadership on growth of projects.
• Attending conferences and networking with potential clients.
