Nava Public Benefit Corp. is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead a talented engineering group and contribute technically as a contributor or lead. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-native solutions in secure, scalable environments supporting Nava’s public-good mission.

The role emphasizes leadership, code-quality, architecture reviews, and long-term strategic thinking, with a remote-friendly setup and a focus on government-focused projects.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment.
• 1+ years experience as a People Manager.
• Experience designing and implementing production-grade, cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and containerized deployment patterns.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably Postgres, using JDBC and ORM mappers like Hibernate.
• Experience with DevOps, preferably with Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience utilizing AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Write code and perform code reviews.
• Write and review technical specifications.
• Work with cross-functional product teams to identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Guide the engineering team on planning, estimation, prioritization, and balance of technical debt.
• Review architecture and designs from other project teams.
• Design technical roadmaps and enforce architecture decisions.
• Maintain production systems and on-call duties.
• Contribute to growing Nava’s client portfolio through bids and stakeholder meetings.
