Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team to lead the creation of Agentic AI systems that transform compliance and customer support processes at scale. You will build and grow multiple engineering teams, define the technical direction for production AI, and partner with Compliance and Operations to deliver automation with measurable business impact.

As a leader, you will drive architecture, guardrails, and grounding for reliable and auditable AI agents,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production
• Deep fluency in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in fast-moving domains
• Experience in compliance, regulatory tech, or financial crimes automation
• Responsible AI practices with human oversight

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization, coaching managers and senior engineers on leadership and AI-first practices
• Set the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Core Automation's Agentic AI systems
• Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails and measurement
• Lead multiple parallel engineering initiatives across compliance automation domains
• Establish engineering standards and AI adoption frameworks to accelerate production AI.
