Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team within the Platform group. Lead AI-first engineering efforts building Agentic AI systems to transform compliance and customer support at scale.

You will hire and coach engineers, set the technical direction, and ensure production systems are reliable, auditable, and compliant while delivering measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering; 5+ years in engineering management
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI to production
• Strong fluency in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering initiatives
• Exposure to compliance, regulatory tech, or financial crimes domains
• Responsible AI practices with human oversight

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a high-performing engineering org; coach managers/senior engineers
• Set technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Agentic AI systems
• Lead production AI systems with guardrails, grounding, and measurement
• Drive multiple parallel initiatives across compliance automation domains
• Establish engineering standards, code reviews, and AI adoption frameworks
