Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team in the Platform group.

You will lead the engineering organization building Agentic AI systems that transform how Coinbase operates, with a focus on compliance, customer support automation, and scalable AI-driven processes. You'll hire and grow multiple teams, set technical direction and roadmaps, and partner with Compliance and Operations to deliver measurable automation benefits across the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in engineering management
• 2+ years managing managers and building teams from the ground up
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production
• Deep fluency in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and AI/ML infrastructure
• Experience in compliance, regulatory technology, customer support automation, or financial crimes domains

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization
• Set the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Core Automation's Agentic AI systems
• Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails
• Lead multiple parallel engineering initiatives across compliance automation domains
• Establish engineering standards and AI adoption frameworks
