Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team within the Platform group.

You will lead the engineering organization building Agentic AI systems to transform compliance and customer support, designing intelligent agents, orchestration frameworks, and guardrail systems that improve compliance posture and user experience at scale. You will build and grow multiple teams, set the technical direction for production AI systems, and partner with Compliance and

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years of engineering management experience
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI applications to production
• Deep technical fluency in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering initiatives in fast-moving domains
• Experience in compliance, regulatory tech, customer support automation, or financial crimes domains
• Demonstrates responsible use of generative AI with human oversight

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization and coach managers/senior engineers
• Set the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Core Automation's Agentic AI systems
• Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails and measurement
• Lead multiple parallel engineering initiatives across compliance automation domains
• Establish engineering standards, code review practices, and AI adoption frameworks
