Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Sr AI Architect - Conversational AI to shape the next generation of customer engagement through conversational AI and enterprise ML platforms. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on architectural work across LLMs, orchestration, and AI Ops.

You will influence company-wide standards, work closely with executives, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable, responsible AI solutions in a remote-US setting.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering with 6+ years in production ML systems
• Experience with ML Ops and LLM Ops patterns
• Deep expertise in production-grade ML/AI systems design, deployment and tuning
• Strong background in cloud-based services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Excellent communication and ability to mentor engineers and influence strategy
• Masters or PhD in relevant quantitative field

Responsibilities

• Define and drive a long-term AI/ML architectural vision aligned with business goals.
• Own the strategic roadmap for the ML/AI Ops platform and tooling.
• Evaluate and implement modern LLM architectures and inference optimization techniques.
• Lead architecture for agentic AI systems including orchestration and grounding.
• Stay current with advancements in LLMs, agent frameworks and AI infrastructure.
• Bridge high-level strategy with hands-on reviews and mentoring.
• Collaborate with Product Management to map roadmaps to milestones.
