Job summary

Twilio is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead a new Identity Graph initiative within the Fraud & Risk teams. You will own the technical direction, shape the graph substrate and partner with product, architecture and engineering leaders to deliver an MVP in a startup-like environment backed by Twilio.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration and mentoring, with a focus on high-scale data platforms and real-time identity resolution across multiple use cases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, building and operating large distributed systems and data models.
• Proven technical anchor for system architecture and cross-functional leadership.
• Strong ability to clarify scope, turn concepts into MVPs and mentor teammates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture for Identity Graph.
• Design and maintain high-performance read models for real-time risk decisions.
• Build data pipelines for multi‑cadence hydration and batch enrichment.
• Ensure privacy boundaries and secure PII handling from day one.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to drive architecture across teams.
• Partner with Twilio and Stytch teams to align platform capabilities.
