Coinbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Core Automation team to lead AI-first engineering groups building Agentic AI systems that transform compliance and customer support, with guardrails and measurable impact.

You will shape multi-quarter roadmaps, hire top talent and partner with Compliance and Operations to deliver production-grade AI that is auditable and scalable, with human oversight where required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• 5+ years in engineering management, including managing managers.
• Proven track record shipping LLM-based AI applications to production with grounding, guardrails, and evaluation.
• Deep fluency in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience in compliance, regulatory tech, or financial crimes domains.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering organization, coaching managers and senior engineers on technical leadership and AI-first practices.
• Set the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Core Automation's Agentic AI systems, prioritizing high-impact automation opportunities.
• Drive architecture and delivery of production LLM-based systems with guardrails, grounding, and measurement for reliability, auditability, and compliance.
• Lead multiple parallel engineering initiatives across compliance automation domains, ensuring velocity and quality.
• Establish engineering standards, code review practices, and AI adoption frameworks to accelerate production AI systems.
