Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a ~15-person team of bargaining unit test technicians and EMI/nuclear engineers in production qualification testing. You will hire, mentor, coach, review performance, and manage budgets and staffing to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include defining staff needs, securing equipment, coordinating cross-functional work, and ensuring adherence to schedules and cost objectives. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
• Prior EMI, Nuclear Engineering, or Lab Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of ~15 bargaining unit test technicians and EMI/nuclear engineers in production qualification testing.
• Provide leadership, hiring, mentoring, and performance reviews; plan salaries and staff development.
• Ensure staffing, facilities, and equipment for projects; manage budgets and travel as needed.
• Coordinate with Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and Operations across Collins Aerospace.
• Support pursuit activities and bids; track work packages and subcontractor coordination.
