Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing test and related processes. The role involves interpreting drawings, solving design and tolerance issues, and evaluating test equipment.

You will participate in capacity planning and cost analysis, drive defect reduction, and lead test-method development for sub-assemblies through top-level products. Onsite role with opportunities for relocation.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in STEM and 2+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in related field.
• Electrical engineering degree preferred; Six Sigma knowledge beneficial.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications.
• Analyze and resolve design tolerance problems.
• Support test equipment selection, cost/payback analysis, and capital expenditure decisions.
• Assist capacity planning and utilization analysis for staffing and test needs.
• Reduce test defects and improve yields; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain test methods for sub-assemblies to top-level products.
• Ensure proper test flows and documentation; train floor technicians.
