Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will lead a team of roughly 15 bargaining unit test technicians and EMI/nuclear engineers, guiding performance reviews, staffing, and budget adherence.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff, facilities, and equipment for qualification testing, interfacing with Engineering Managers and Program Managers, and ensuring on-time, on-budget project execution.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years experience.
• Must be able to obtain a US DoD security clearance.
• Prior EMI, Nuclear engineering, or lab management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, hiring and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
• Prepare/deliver performance reviews and career development plans.
• Plan salaries, reward and recognize staff; manage staff performance as needed.
• Identify staff, facilities and equipment needed for projects and ensure successful execution.
• Manage budgets, schedules and performance requirements; coordinate equipment acquisition.
