Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a team of 10-15 systems and software engineers. You will provide technical direction across bids, design, integration, and certification, while managing cost, schedule, and EVMS responsibilities.

This role requires a STEM degree with 10+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 7+ years), strong communication, and ability to grow talent and collaborate across internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
• Experience leading engineering or project teams with cost and schedule accountability.
• Experience in Earned Value Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a 10-15 person systems/software team.
• Recruit and grow engineering talent across levels.
• Provide technical leadership across full project lifecycle.
• Manage cost, schedule, and technical execution with EVMS.
• Support resource planning and allocation.
• Build relationships with internal/external customers and teams.
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement.
• Communicate risks and status updates clearly.
• Promote a positive learning-focused culture.
• Travel up to 10%.
