Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a test engineer to design automated production test solutions for high‑reliability electronics. You will translate requirements into production tests, lead projects, and mentor junior engineers onsite.

Eligible candidates typically hold a STEM degree with extensive aerospace electronics experience and must be able to obtain a US DoD security clearance. This onsite role offers strong growth and senior responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have the ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Prior relevant test engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design and development of complex aerospace electronics.
• Expert knowledge of programming languages: C/C++/C#, Python.

Responsibilities

• Review product designs and create automated test solutions that maximize test coverage on top level, sub-level, and circuit card assemblies.
• Capture, analyze, decompose and translate requirements for production test solutions.
• Design, test, integrate and document production test solutions of moderate to high complexity.
• Lead assigned projects to achieve quality solutions under moderate or indirect supervision.
• Coach and train junior members of the team.
• Ensure adherence to defined processes, project cost and schedule requirements.
• Prepare and present project/technical information to peers, management and customers.
• Design and implement activities to deploy test solutions worldwide.
