Job summary

Scale is seeking an experienced deal originator to lead customer acquisition and commercial structuring for hyperscale and large enterprise data center customers. You will manage regulatory, legal, and engineering components while originating, negotiating, and advancing multi-hundred-megawatt transactions across powered land and co-located solutions.

This hybrid role is based in the West Palm Beach, Chicago, New York City, or Ridgewood offices, reports to Chief Business Officer, Data Centers,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in energy origination, infrastructure development, IPP, or hyperscale commercial roles.
• Experience negotiating PPAs, energy services agreements, or large load service contracts.
• Has closed >100 MW infrastructure transactions.
• Deep understanding of generation economics and grid interconnection.
• Operates with entrepreneurial drive and institutional discipline.
• Prior experience at a hyperscaler, or with grid-scale gas origination at an independent power producer.
• Strong commercial judgment and executive presence.
• Prepared to travel nationally, up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Originate and cultivate a pipeline, advancing onsite energy solutions to close.
• Lead direct engagement with hyperscalers and large colocation providers.
• Develop and manage strategic account plans.
• Advance early-stage discussions through executed term sheets.
• Structure integrated energy + land + development frameworks.
• Negotiate pricing structures and regulatory alignment.
• Coordinate with Regulatory, Engineering, M&A, and Finance; drive investment committee approvals.
