Pattern Energy Group is seeking a senior in-house attorney to provide legal support across trading, operations, and corporate functions for its renewable energy portfolio in the United States and Canada. The role emphasizes drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and guiding risk management across projects.

Qualifications

• JD and active license to practice law.
• 7–10+ years of legal experience, preferably in energy or commodities.
• Experience with commodity trading agreements (EEI, ISDA, WSPP).
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commodity trading agreements (EEI, ISDA, WSPP).
• Advise on trading-related matters, credit and collateral provisions, and risk allocation.
• Draft, negotiate MSAs, O&M agreements, PPAs, land leases, and other commercial documents.
• Provide practical legal support to cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Identify and mitigate contractual and operational risks with independent judgment.
