Job summary

Enel North America Inc. in the United States is seeking a seasoned energy legal professional to support the Energy Management and Commodities Trading team.

You will draft and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements, REC and ISDA agreements, and advise on complex commercial transactions. You will interact with senior leaders, guide regulatory and compliance matters, and help manage permitting, claims, and litigation related to the energy trading business.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required.
• At least 5 years of legal experience in transactions with emphasis on energy trading.
• General knowledge of FERC and RTO rules and requirements.
• Ability to provide strategic and commercial legal advice and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present clear and practical legal positions.
• Excellent business judgment with ability to navigate a fast-paced environment and influence others.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements.
• Draft and negotiate REC agreements.
• Draft and negotiate ISDA agreements.
• Structure, draft and negotiate other complex and time-sensitive commercial transactions.
• Counsel on the company's know-your-customer processes.
• Manage corporate entities and ensure compliance with laws and bylaws.
• Support permitting processes at federal, state, and local levels.
• Handle litigation-related matters for the business line, including regulatory claims.
• Advise management on corporate, compliance, civil, energy trading, insurance, development and finance issues.
