Job summary

Happen Bank in San Francisco is seeking a Principal Information Systems Engineer to own strategy and direction for our Windows and Mac end-user computing environment. You’ll lead device management, security, automation, and modernization at scale, while mentoring teammates and coordinating with vendors and offshore resources.

You will shape tooling and processes, automate repetitive tasks, and drive reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in end user computing, endpoint engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field
• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Deep hands-on expertise with endpoint management platforms such as JAMF, Active Directory, SCCM, and Intune
• Ownership mindset, strong judgment, and reliability
• Independent work style with ability to multitask
• Strong knowledge of CIS/NIST standards in complex environments
• Ability to diagnose novas problems quickly and methodically
• Demonstrated ability to set technical direction aligned with business goals
• Judicious use of AI tools for scripting and automation with emphasis on accuracy and data safety
• Excellent communication to translate technical solutions to teammates and vendors
• Experience with Intune for deployment, inventory, antivirus, and endpoint security
• JAMF, SCCM, or Intune certifications
• Experience with Okta, Entra ID, and identity management
• Experience with Terraform, AWS EC2, or Kubernetes/EKS

Responsibilities

• Serve as the top escalation point for Windows and Mac issues Helpdesk can’t resolve.
• Administer SCCM, Intune and JAMF, deploying packages and OS images globally.
• Shape systems strategy for secure, efficient client management across OS versions.
• Build automation with Bash, Python, and PowerShell; leverage AI for scripting where helpful.
• Lead technical resources across projects with US teams and external partners.
• Review designs from juniors and mentor them toward technical growth.
• Evaluate security updates and patches before rollout balancing risk and speed.
• Develop integrations with new technologies and secure endpoint deployments
