Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Business Partner. The role partners with leaders and HR to resolve complex employee relations matters, conduct investigations, and ensure compliant, fair application of policies across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong ER expertise with excellent communication and analytical skills, and is comfortable traveling up to 25% and working 100% remotely when not traveling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management or related discipline with 4 years’ experience; or alternative combos as listed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Direct experience handling all aspects of employee relations issues, including intake, review, and resolution.
• Advanced knowledge of workplace investigations, union avoidance, and state & federal employment laws.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate, and build credibility with employees and leaders at all levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment with confidential matters.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of time for investigations and to work remotely 100% other than travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as employee relations expert, guiding leaders and conducting investigations.
• Perform and document investigations per ER team guidelines.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal and other teams to resolve inquiries and investigations.
• Champion compliance by interpreting policies and educating stakeholders.
• Own assigned ER cases in the case management system and Ethics Hotline.
• Analyze ER trends to identify opportunities and improve engagement.
• Partner with HR to foster a positive ER climate and prompt issue resolution.
• Support information gathering for legal complaints and charges.
