Job summary

FNIC Trusted insurance advisors is seeking a Sr. Compliance Consultant, Employee Benefits to guide clients and internal teams through ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related requirements.

You will translate complex regulations into clear guidance, support reviews, and stay ahead of regulatory changes. You'll collaborate with external counsel and internal partners to manage risk and ensure compliant employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans and 5500 reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, legal studies, or related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive employee benefits experience with compliance focus.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, IRC provisions affecting employee benefits, Section 125, FMLA, and state leave laws.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted compliance resource for clients and internal teams on employee benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, 125, TC transparency, No Surprises Act, MHPAEA).
• Translate complex requirements into practical, actionable guidance for plan sponsors.
• Review plan structures for compliance gaps and advise next steps.
• Lead compliance training and education sessions for clients and internal teams.
• Coordinate with outside counsel for complex legal interpretations.
