Job summary

Actalent is seeking an EMC Test Engineer to execute EMC/EMI validation across product development cycles for commercial, military marine, and data center power systems. You will plan and run tests, interpret complex data, and partner with electrical design engineers to drive design improvements and certifications.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, collaboration with lab personnel, and direct impact on reliability and future certification readiness, with onsite work at Fort Collins, CO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on EMC/EMI testing experience in engineering.
• Experience executing EMC test plans from setup to completion.
• Ability to analyze EMC data and identify failure mechanisms.
• Familiarity with IEC and EN standards and revisions.
• Solid electrical engineering background for understanding complex power systems.
• Proficiency with spectrum analyzers for emissions/ immunity measurements.
• Experience with EMC test equipment and technical troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to provide actionable feedback to design teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute EMC/EMI validation during product development to meet timelines.
• Independently run test plans, setup, data collection, and reporting.
• Analyze test data to identify performance trends and failures.
• Provide design recommendations to electrical engineering teams.
• Collaborate with design engineers to resolve EMC issues.
• Support radiated and conducted emissions testing for power products.
• Use test equipment and software to perform testing and troubleshooting.
• Ensure testing aligns with IEC/EN standards and revisions.
• Contribute to PCB/layout discussions to improve EMC performance.
• Guide design decisions with minimal supervision and ramp tests effectively.
