Job summary

Nemko is seeking a Senior EMC Test Engineer at our Austin Test Facility to evaluate electronic products for electromagnetic compatibility. You will conduct EMC testing, analyze results, and ensure compliance with international standards while collaborating with a team of experts.

The role requires 3+ years in EMC testing, strong knowledge of MIL-STD 461/464 and DO-160, and hands-on experience with EMC test equipment and software, with relocation support to Austin offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of EMC testing and compliance experience.
  • Proficiency with MIL-STD 461/464 and DO-160 standards.
  • Experience using EMC testing equipment and software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EMC testing including EMI and EMS on diverse products.
  • Develop and execute test plans per MIL-STD 461/464 and DO-160.
  • Analyze data, identify non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed test reports for clients and regulators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on compliance strategies.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy.

Job description

Position Overview:

As a Senior EMC Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating electronic products for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) at Nemko’s Austin Test Facility. We are looking to bring onboard experienced test engineers with specific testing experience for Military & Aerospace products/components. You will work closely with a team of experts to conduct EMC testing, analyse results, and ensure products comply with relevant international standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform EMC testing, including emissions (EMI) and immunity(EMS) assessments, on a variety of electronic products.
  • Develop and execute test plans in accordance with MIL-STD 461/464 and DO-160
  • Analyse test data, identify non-conformities, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and compliance strategies.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Stay updated on the latest EMC standards and testing methodologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EMC testing and compliance.
  • Proficiency in MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, and DO-160 standards
  • Experience with test equipment and software used in EMC testing.
