Master Electrical Engineer - EMC Compliance
Houston, Texas (on-site position)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Master Electrical Compliance Engineer to support EMC design, testing, debugging, and regulatory compliance for server and compute hardware. The role includes hands-on testing within an ISO/IEC 17025 environment, PCB/system-level EMC design reviews, and energy-efficiency testing.
Responsibilities
- Lead EMC/EMI design, testing, and debugging for complex electronic hardware.
- Conduct PCB and system-level EMC design reviews.
- Develop and execute EMC test plans, including emissions and immunity testing.
- Troubleshoot EMC failures and identify design-level solutions.
- Review OEM/partner EMC test data and reports.
- Maintain EMC engineering standards and testing requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to hardware and product development teams.
Energy Efficiency
- Perform and support testing for ENERGY STAR, EPEAT, EU Lot 9, and other energy-efficiency requirements.
- Work with BIOS/firmware teams on power management and energy-efficiency debugging.
- Review energy test data, reports, and regulatory submissions.
Laboratory & Compliance
- Perform hands-on testing within an ISO/IEC 17025 lab environment.
- Configure systems for testing, including OS, drivers, and firmware.
- Prepare and publish formal test reports.
- Support lab calibration, equipment management, test tracking, and quality requirements.
Experience
- 10+ years of Electrical/electronic hardware engineering background.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong EMC/EMI engineering and testing experience.
- Experience with PCB-level EMC design and troubleshooting.
- Experience working within an ISO/IEC 17025 or similar accredited test environment.
- Experience with complex hardware such as servers, compute, storage, networking, or similar electronic systems.
- Experience with ENERGY STAR, EPEAT, EU Lot 9, or similar energy-efficiency standards is preferred.
- Experience working with BIOS, firmware, or system power management is an asset.
