Job summary

Actalent in Lexington, KY is seeking an Associate Engineer to perform hands-on product testing and evaluation in a laboratory setting, supporting an EMC team under senior engineers.

You will set up test equipment, operate and troubleshoot products, document results, and contribute to certification and compliance testing both on-site and off-site. The role includes second shift work after an initial training period.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering tech or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years hands-on testing and validation in EMC or RF domains.
• Experience in lab, manufacturing, or quality-focused environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work second shift (4 PM–1 AM) after training.
• Interest in professional growth and leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on product testing in a lab under senior engineers.
• Evaluate products on-site and off-site for standards compliance.
• Review codes and schematics to determine applicability.
• Set up and operate test instruments and EUT.
• Follow test plans to ensure consistent procedures.
• Document results and prepare final reports.
• Communicate status to sales, management, and clients.
• Support cradle-to-grave lifecycle of testing projects.
• Assist with onboarding and learning alongside experienced engineers.
