Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, integrate and maintain software for LOCOTROL Remote Control Locomotive, Tower Control and Distributed Power systems. The role requires extensive C/C++ development in RTOS and bare metal environments, with 15+ years of embedded software experience, cross-functional collaboration, and occasional travel up to 10%.

You will work closely with PMs, system engineers, and test teams to meet customer requirements and quality

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
15+ years developing embedded software in RTOS and bare metal environments.
Experience with C/C++ for multi-process / multi-threaded systems.
Strong software design, architecture, data structures and algorithms.
Willing to travel up to 10% of time.

Responsibilities

Develop, integrate, test, demonstrate and maintain embedded software for LOCOTROL platforms.
Design and implement software in C/C++ for RTOS and bare metal targets.
Collaborate with PMs, system engineers, architects, and test teams.
Mentor junior engineers and participate in design/code reviews.
Drive performance, reliability and CI/testing improvements.
Interact with customers/partners during development and deployment.
