Job summary

Wabtec seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for LOCOTROL platforms. You will work on embedded systems using C/C++ across RTOS and bare-metal environments, contributing to Next Gen integrations with RCS products.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS/CE, 4+ years in embedded software, and travel up to 10%. Collaboration with PMs, system engineers, and test teams is essential for delivering reliable locomotive control software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum of 4 years developing embedded software in both RTOS and bare metal environments.
Experience writing multi-process / multi-threaded programs using C or C++.
Strong understanding of software design, methods, and architectural approaches.
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Willing and able to travel 10% of your time.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain embedded software components for LOCOTROL platforms.
Design, develop, test, demonstrate, and maintain embedded software applications in C/C++.
Collaborate with PMs, System Engineers, Architects, and test teams to meet customer requirements.
Provide technical mentoring for junior software engineers.
