Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software for LOCOTROL product portfolios. You will work with PMs, system engineers, and test teams across multiple embedded platforms, primarily in C and C++.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of embedded software experience in RTOS environments, with Agile practices like Scrum or Kanban.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years developing embedded software in RTOS and bare metal environments.
• Experience writing multi-process / multi-threaded programs in C/C++.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Willing to travel up to 10% of time.
• Experience with Scrum/Kanban in Agile environments.
• Experience with ColdFire, ARM and/or PowerPC micro-processors in C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software components for LOCOTROL products.
• Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.
• Design, implement, test, and deploy software for embedded systems.
• Program in C/C++ for all applications and interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product specs.
• Review designs and code to ensure quality and reliability.
• Drive performance and reliability improvements.
• Create and maintain software documentation and architectures.
