Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for industrial electronics, covering requirements, architecture, implementation, testing and deployment.

You will work with systems, hardware, and product teams to ensure cybersecurity, reliability and on‑schedule delivery, while following DOSE processes and standards. Relocation assistance may be provided where eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Proven embedded software development with C and C++.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and RTOS environments (QNX, FreeRTOS).
• Knowledge of software architecture, interfaces, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software that meets system requirements.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and product teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation across the SDLC.
• Participate in reviews and develop unit/integration tests.
• Support verification, validation, and release activities.
• Address cybersecurity vulnerabilities per secure development practices.
