Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for industrial electronics products. You will work through the full software lifecycle, collaborating with systems, hardware and product teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role demands 7–10 years of experience, strong C/C++ and scripting skills, and familiarity with Linux/RTOS environments like QNX and FreeRTOS. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing embedded software using C and C++.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation, testing, and development workflows.
• Experience with Linux, Unix-based systems, or RTOS such as QNX and FreeRTOS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software that meets system and subsystem requirements.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, and product engineering teams to ensure software aligns with specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation across requirements, architecture, and design.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and regression test suites to improve quality.
• Investigate and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities per secure development processes.
