Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the DOSE team in the rail domain. You will design and develop embedded software for Electronically Controlled Pneumatics, Train Control and related systems, collaborating with cross-functional engineers to ensure safety, cybersecurity, and on-time delivery.

You will review requirements, implement tests, and release software following DOSE processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience.
Excellent written and spoken communication.
Self-driven, quick learner, team player, results-oriented.
Experience with C and C++ software development.
Experience with Bash, Python or other scripting languages for automation.
Experience with Linux or Unix-based RTOS (QNX, FreeRTOS).
Proficient in software, component, and interface design.
Understanding of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, and hardware interfaces.
Desirable: device drivers and board support packages; SCM/SDLC/CI; Agile Scrum; safety-critical software & rail standards.

Responsibilities

Design and develop high quality software products aligned with system and subsystem requirements.
Collaborate with the broader business unit to meet product specifications.
Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions as needed.
Create and maintain software design, requirements, process and architecture documentation.
Participate in software architecture, design and code reviews.
Execute and improve the full software development lifecycle.
Create automated unit tests for new designs.
Investigate and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
