Job summary

Blue Origin in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join the Avionics Design team. You will design, implement, and test embedded software for high voltage power systems and hardware interfaces, collaborating with FPGA designers to deliver robust aerospace software.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in computer/ electrical engineering or CS, 5+ years in embedded software, C/C++, RTOS, and experience with SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS and hardware/software interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe).
• Experience with FPGA interfaces and register-level hardware integration.
• Strong debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
• U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software in C/C++ for high voltage power systems.
• Collaborate with Electrical Circuit and FPGA Designers for hw/sw integration.
• Drive software lifecycle from requirements through deployment.
• Develop low-level drivers and firmware for embedded platforms.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification activities.
• Contribute to software architecture, reviews, and documentation.
• Create and execute software verification plans including unit and integration tests.
• Ensure software development adheres to applicable standards.
