Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Embedded Software Developer for the Avionics Design team in the Core Systems and Components group. You will develop embedded software for Avionics and Electric Propulsion hardware, collaborating with FPGA and Electrical Designers to ensure robust, high‑performance software.

The role covers the full software lifecycle, from requirements through verification, with emphasis on safety‑critical aerospace applications and standards compliance. WA state location, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems with RTOS.
• Strong hardware/software interface knowledge (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe).
• Citizenship or permanent residency required for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software in C/C++ for high voltage power systems.
• Collaborate with FPGA and electrical designers to ensure HW/SW integration.
• Lead lifecycle activities from requirements to deployment and tests.
• Develop drivers and firmware for embedded platforms and support bring-up.
• Create and execute software verification plans including unit and regression tests.
