Blue Origin seeks an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join our Avionics Design team within the Core Systems and Components group. You will develop embedded software for our Avionics and Electric Propulsion hardware in collaboration with FPGA designers for robust aerospace applications.

Responsibilities span the full software lifecycle—from requirements and architecture through implementation, verification, and deployment—plus driver development and hardware bring-up. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Strong understanding of hardware/software interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe).
• Experience with FPGA interfaces and register-level hardware integration.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).
• Familiarity with Git and software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software in C/C++ for high voltage power systems.
• Collaborate with Electrical Circuit and FPGA Designers to ensure hardware/software integration.
• Drive work across the software lifecycle from requirements through deployment.
• Develop low-level drivers and firmware for embedded hardware platforms.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification activities.
• Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and documentation.
• Develop and execute software verification and validation plans, including unit, integration, and automated tests.
• Ensure software development adheres to applicable standards.
