Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for an on-site role in Aurora, CO. You will architect, design, implement, test, and deploy real-time embedded software for firmware and hardware solutions in a multidisciplinary IPT environment.

The position requires a strong foundation in embedded systems and the ability to work across hardware and software domains. The role emphasizes collaboration with product owners and engineers, ongoing learning, and adherence to Lean/Agile practices.

Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience including at least two of the following: Embedded C++ Software, Embedded Software Security, Software Architecture Design and Implementation.
Experience using embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) (e.g., Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.)
Active and transferrable final Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, implement, test, and debug embedded real-time software within heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
Collaborate with cross-discipline IPT to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and guaranteed, measurable quality.
Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
Contribute to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.
Ability to obtain program access.
