Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr Principal Embedded & Real Time Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate and test embedded software for flight-critical systems. You will work with cross-functional teams and Agile processes in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple baselines and real-time OS platforms.
The role requires a STEM degree with significant related experience and active Top Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related engineering experience or higher degrees with fewer years of experience.
- Experience with the full SW Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with multi-threaded software for real-time applications such as flight-critical or mission-critical systems.
- Experience with Agile SW development and embedded system programming.
- Familiarity with data interfaces (e.g., 1553, CAN, Ethernet/IP).
- Strong communication and collaboration across engineering teams.
- Experience with RTOS such as VxWorks, Integrity, or RT Embedded Linux.
Responsibilities
- Participate in full SW development life cycle from requirements to delivery.
- Design, develop, integrate and test embedded and real-time software.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and test engineers.
- Work in Agile Scrum teams across multiple SW baselines.
- Interact with various tools and CI/CD environments to ensure quality.
