Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Development to join our on-site team in San Diego, California. You will design, develop, integrate, and test embedded, real-time software for end-user customers and mission-critical systems.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams in an Agile environment, applying SDLC practices and C/C++/Python expertise. A Secret clearance is required, and relocation may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year of experience.
• Experience with the full SW Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with C, C++, and Python.
• Experience developing software for Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience with multi-threaded software for flight, safety or mission-critical applications.
• Experience with Jira, GitLab, Fortify, or Coverity.
• Experience with Agile SW development, embedded system programming, SW integration and testing.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse assignments and team collaboration across levels.
• Participate in the full SW development lifecycle from requirements to delivery.
• Develop embedded real-time software for flight and mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate in Agile Scrum teams to develop software for multiple baselines.
