Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer / Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded software for mission systems in Melbourne, FL.

You will work in an Agile environment with multi-disciplinary teams on real-time systems using C/C++ and Python, ensuring safety-critical performance. The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, active U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s with 3+ years; OR a PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience with Agile Framework in the last 3 years.
• Experience developing software/scripts in C, C++, and/or Python for safety/mission-critical systems in the last 3 years.
• Experience with software change control, CI/CD tools: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes in the last 3 years.
• Experience architecting/designing/m modeling (Rhapsody or Cameo), implementing and maintaining safety/mission-critical embedded real-time software on RTOS like VxWorks or Real-Time Embedded Linux in the last 3 years.
• Experience with static & dynamic code analysis tools and fuzzing tools like Coverity, SonarQube, Fortify in the last 3 years.
• Must have an active U.S. Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test software for embedded and real-time systems.
• Architect and develop embedded mission systems software on a real-time OS.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test in an Agile environment.
• Participate in full SDLC from requirements to delivery of software products to customers.
