Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop high-performance radar and RF sensing software for autonomous defense platforms. This role focuses on DART team work on counter-UAV radar systems, from board bring-up to low-latency embedded code.

The candidate will write production C/C++ code across MCUs and multi-core processors, optimize real-time performance, and collaborate with hardware engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software experience in radar, RF sensing, signal processing, wireless or aerospace products.
• Proficiency in low level C/C++ for embedded systems with clean, well-tested code.
• Experience with RTOS or bare-metal in memory-constrained environments.
• Ability to read schematics and bring-up new boards and processors, including peripherals/drivers.
• Deep knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet.
• Experience optimizing high-performance systems for real-time constraints.
• Ability to debug and validate embedded software with lab tests and analyzers.
• Strong SDLC experience and ability to deliver frequent updates in a fast-paced environment.
• On-site work required at Huntington Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

• Build next-generation counter-UAV defense systems with real-time radar capabilities.
• Write high-performance C/C++ code across MCUs and multi-core processors.
• Develop and maintain radar and RF sensing signal processing pipelines for real-time performance.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on board bring-up and HW/SW trade-offs.
• Develop functional and lab tests to validate new features and software quality.
• Own embedded software reliability and performance; document and fix issues.
• Contribute to project planning, risk management, and trade-off decisions.
• Produce software specifications, architectures, and testing procedures for manufacturing.
