Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting seeks an hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack on the MK2 drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build, secure, and ship the OS through automated CI/CD pipelines in a headless, embedded environment.

This role requires deep work with Yocto/BitBake, image recipes, and patch management, as well as configuring systemd services and network behavior on devices with no display.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining Linux-based firmware and image recipes using Yocto/BitBake.
• Hands-on with embedded hardware, headless devices, and minimal recovery options.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD for embedded builds (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience debugging build pipelines and optimizing image creation.
• Familiarity with QA hardening, patching, and security considerations for embedded OS.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the OS and firmware stack for the MK2 drone platform.
• Develop and refine Yocto recipes and BSP integration for QRB5165.
• Tune build pipelines for faster CI times and reliable image generation.
• Implement rootfs post-processing, hardening, and security patches.
• Configure and manage systemd services and network settings for headless devices.
