Job summary

The Recruiting Hive seeks an hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack for the MK2 drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build the OS, keep it secure, reliable, and ship it via automated CI/CD pipelines.

This role focuses on low-level OS internals, Yocto BitBake, systemd, and headless embedded hardware with no display. You will work on build systems, image recipes, and post-processing tasks to harden and optimize firmware.

Qualifications

• Experience with Embedded Linux and real-time requirements.
• Hands-on Yocto/BitBake build system expertise.
• Strong C/C++ skills for low-level firmware.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated builds.

Responsibilities

• Own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack for MK2 drone platform.
• Maintain and extend qti-ubuntu-robotics-image recipes and layers.
• Develop .bb/.bbappend patches against QRB5165 BSPs.
• Tune build performance and manage sstate-cache across CI agents.
• Configure rootfs post-processing and OS hardening.
• Implement and maintain Jenkins pipelines and artifact management.
• Ensure secure, headless OS operation with robust recovery options.
