Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking a hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack on the MK2 drone platform (Qualcomm QRB5165). You will build, secure, and ship the OS through automated CI/CD pipelines, not just the application layer.

You will work with Yocto BitBake, headless embedded hardware, and post-build OS hardening. Expect tasks around rootfs customization, systemd services, and performance tuning for reliable drone firmware.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded Linux experience with firmware stacks.
• Proficiency in Yocto/BitBake and image creation for headless devices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated builds.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Ubuntu-based firmware stack for MK2 drone platform.
• Develop and patch Yocto BSP layers and image recipes.
• Hardening and post-processing of RootFS for security and reliability.
• Tune build system performance and manage dependencies across images.
