Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Oregon to develop firmware for device platforms and gateways. You will select hardware components, bring up new boards, and build robust firmware across constrained environments, driving from prototype to shipped product.

You will collaborate with product, full‑stack, mobile and QA teams to ensure telemetry data is reliable and usable for dispatchers and technicians.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building firmware for resource-constrained systems.
• Led firmware development end-to-end from concept to launch.
• Experience with bare-metal and RTOS scheduling decisions.
• Familiar with SPI/I2C/UART and low-level interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Shape hardware and firmware design choices with engineers and prototypes.
• Bring up new platforms and validate designs on real hardware.
• Own peripheral drivers, secure bootloaders, and device firmware updates.
• Design for ultra-low power and long device life.
• Collaborate with product and quality teams to ensure reliable data flows.
